2. Information We Collect

To prepare your UAE will and support registration, we collect the following categories of information:

• Personal details: Full legal name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, Emirates ID number, email address, phone number, and residential address.
• Will content & beneficiaries: Details of your appointed executors, guardians, beneficiaries, UAE and worldwide asset allocations, and specific distribution wishes.
• Guardianship information: Where your will includes a guardianship clause for minor children, identifying details regarding the minors (name, date of birth, relationship) are collected solely to draft valid guardianship provisions.
• Supporting documentation: Scanned copies of passports, Emirates IDs, marriage certificates, and title deeds uploaded to your secure document vault.
• Payment data: Payments are processed directly through Geidea, a Central Bank of the UAE-licensed payment institution. OwnX never stores credit or debit card numbers on its servers.
• Usage & device data: Technical logs, browser user agents, IP addresses, and session tokens to maintain security and prevent fraudulent access.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data strictly for lawful purposes, including:

• Generating your personalized UAE will and legal documentation;
• Coordinating certified legal Arabic translation by licensed translators;
• Facilitating registration scheduling and submission support with the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD);
• Processing your order and issuing receipts;
• Communicating application updates and draft review notices; and
• Complying with applicable UAE anti-money laundering and regulatory obligations.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We disclose your information only to authorised third parties strictly necessary to deliver the service:

• Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD): For official will registration;
• Certified Legal Translators: Bound by statutory confidentiality to prepare the official Arabic translation;
• Geidea Payment Gateway: For PCI-DSS compliant payment processing; and
• Zoho CRM & Cloud Infrastructure: Operating under AES-256 encryption with strict role-based access controls.

5. Data Security & Encryption

All documents uploaded to OwnX are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and transmitted via TLS 1.3 encryption. Internal access to client files is restricted strictly to legal reviewers and specialists assigned to your application, governed by granular permission controls and audited by automated access logging.

6. Data Retention

Your will documentation and associated records are retained in your secure document vault for as long as your account remains active and as required by UAE corporate and legal record-keeping standards. You may request deletion or archiving of your records once registration is complete, subject to mandatory legal compliance obligations.

7. Your Rights Under UAE Law

Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection, you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
• Request deletion or restriction of your personal data where applicable; and
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
